OpportuNEETies
OpportuNEETies is an Erasmus+ KA2 project (Strategic Partnership) that aims to increase the quality and relevance of learning opportunities, by creating common skills among four European entities, which are partners in this project.
For many years, the organisations that participated in this project had noticed the lack of mobility projects for people called "NEETS", people who have a higher insertion needs due to their socio-economic profile. There are few projects adapted for these youngsters; there is not enough accessibility in the activities of the program, and there is a lack of strategic cooperation between the partners that send young people and those who host them.
In this context, this project seeks to analyze professional positions and contextual realities, exchange knowledge and analyze blocks to find how young workers can adapt the qualifications of young people to their expectations and needs. With this project we promote a professional dynamic line with the context of each partner. Our objective is to improve European cooperation through the creation of projects for the reception of young people (in formal and non-formal education), and to identify the different steps for the support process, particularly in the possibilities of
social entrepreneurship.
This project lasted 28 months, from September 2016 to December 2018. During this time there were 4 meetings, with 3-4 participants per country and 4 meetings of exchange of practices and seminars, also with 4 participants per country. The project had a total of 116 participants, within 4 ethnic minorities or specific communities.
This project was based on the logic of self-training. Each participant had an experience and the competition was done through the synergies of everyone's experience. Each participant is at the same time trained (by their peers) and a trainer (for their peers). Each method used during the exchanges and trainings required the active participation of the participants.
The whole team of Asociacion Mundus is committed to give priority to this goal for young people.
We work closely with all public schools in Santa Coloma and its surroundings, to ensure that our mobility opportunities reach those whom it can be of great help and experience abroad, in terms of empowerment and personal and professional development. We also have many partnerships with local institutions such as CRAE's (foster homes) to promote mobility among young people who are counseled by social workers in such entities and who are likely to become a NEET.
We try to involve them in different ways:
