My Erasmus+ VET Experience. Vianney y Meron son dos estudiantes franceses del Lycée Christian Bourquin que realizaron durante mayo y junio de 2018 sus prácticas en Zaragoza, a través de MUNDUS y con la ayuda de UNISER. En concreto realizaron sus prácticas en Overpani y Don Fresco Clima, respectivamente. Resultó ser todo un éxito: ambas empresas les ofrecieron contratos de trabajo. Lee la entrevista que le hicimos a estos jóvenes hace unos días para conocer la historia.

How would you describe yourself in one sentence? / Descríbete en una frase. 

Meron: Meron is a man who work hard for everything and that’s why I have this proposition from the company and that’s why I could say myself “never give up for everything”. / Meron es un chico que trabaja duro y por eso ahora tengo la propuesta de continuidad de mi empresa. Mi frase es: “nunca te des por vencido”.

Vianney: He is a boy passionate about pastry and wants to become a great professional. / Es un chico apasionado por la pastelería y quiere llegar a ser un gran profesional.

 In Zaragoza, in which company were you doing the internship and what were your tasks? / ¿En Zaragoza, en qué empresa estás haciendo prácticas?

Meron: The company it has like 6-7 workers and has different profiles, for example the man I work with is electrician, and they have also persons who work with climatisation, ventilation,etc. I think the company has very good management, Alberto is the boss and he has a good behaviour, knows how to manage everything and lead his workers. The company was very very good for me, I found it perfect for everything, from beginning to end it was very nice. My job was electrician. Electrician is to install electric lines in houses, boutiques, etc. I prefer to be engineering electrician and this internship was a bit different but this internship is different because I’m not in France and I want to have different experience in other country and I think for the future is very important for me. My project is to be engineering electrician and that’s why I came here to work hard, to get my life and to get experience with different people, bosses,.. / Mi empresa tiene 6-7 empleados y son personas con diferentes perfiles, por ejemplo un compañero con que el trabajaba es eléctricista, pero también existe perfil de personas que trabajan con el aire acondicionado, ventilación, etc. Creo que la empresa tiene muy buena organización. Alberto es el jefe y tiene un buen comportamiento, sabe cómo manejar todo y liderar a sus trabajadores. En la empresa han sido muy buenos conmigo, la encontré perfecta para todo, de principio a final todo fue muy agradable. Mi trabajo era electricista. Electricista para  instalar líneas eléctricas en casas, boutiques, etc. Prefiero ser electricista de ingeniería y estas prácticas fueron un poco diferentes, pero estas prácticas son diferentes porque no estoy en Francia y quiero tener una experiencia diferente en otro país y pienso que para el futuro es muy importante para mi. Mi proyecto es ser electricista de ingeniería y es por eso que vine aquí a trabajar duro, para ganarme la vida y obtener experiencia con diferentes personas, jefes,...

Vianney: I worked in a workshop of bakery that prepared products for different stores and I was able to make cakes, cakes, pastries, breads, a little bit of everything ... They were the best practices I have done so far. / Trabajo en un obrador que prepara productos para diferentes tiendas y he podido hacer tartas, pasteles, bollería, panes, un poco de todo… Fueron las mejores prácticas que he hice hasta ahora.

To both of you companies have offered the work contract, how do you feel about that? /  A los dos os han ofrecido un contrato de trabajo, ¿cómo os sentís?  

Meron: When the company offer me a contract, i was like a robot , i didn't say nothing for a  moment ; and i say to Alberto ; what did you say, because for me it's a big deal to receive an offer of a job contract and i feel happy about that./ Cuando la empresa me ofreció el contrato, me quedé como un robot, no dije nada por un momento; y le dije a Alberto: ¿qué has dicho? Porque para mí es algo grande recibir una oferta de trabajo, y me siento muy feliz por eso.

Vianney: When the company offered me the contract I felt proud of myself but also glad that I have the opportunity to be part of the company. I didn’t come here for that reason and it is a big chance for me. I also saw that even far from France I could show my quality which means a lot. / Cuando la empresa me ofreció el contrato, me sentí orgulloso de mí mismo, pero también me alegro de que él me ofrezca un lugar en su empresa. No vine aquí por estos motivos y es una gran oportunidad para mí.También vi que incluso lejos de Francia podía mostrar mi calidad, que cuenta mucho.

What did you do in you free time in Zaragoza? /  En Zaragoza, ¿qué haces en tu tiempo libre?

Meron: As I come for the first time in this city, I visited many churches, many places because there is a lot of history here. And this experience is not just about the company, it’s like one month here and everything was nice, we went to Barcelona, walked around the city. Also I had the contact with workers, he invited me one day to meet for a coffee in the city, so we exchanged some personal things, I told him about my history, he told me things about his history and so.. and I don’t know, I don’t have words to describe this experience… (smiling) / Como vine por primera vez a esta ciudad, visité muchas iglesias, muchos lugares porque aquí hay mucha historia. Y esta experiencia no es solo sobre la compañía, pasé como un mes aquí y todo estuvo bien, fuimos a Barcelona, caminamos por la ciudad. Además, tuve contacto con los trabajadores, uno de ellos me invitó un día para tomar un café en la ciudad, intercambiamos algunas cosas personales, le conté sobre mi historia, él me contó sobre su historia y... no sé, no tengo palabras para describir esta experiencia … (sonríe)
 

Vianney: I have done all the cultural visits with my group, especially I loved the Basilica del Pilar and Aljaferia that I thought was wonderful, like the whole experience in general. / He hecho todas las visitas culturales con mi grupo, especialmente me encanto la Basílica del Pilar y Aljafería que me pareció maravilloso, como toda la experiencia en general.

 What did you think you gained during this experience? / ¿Qué creéis que habéis adquirido durante esta experiencia?

Meron: When we speak in general, first of all thanks for everything you doing, and  did for us to have experience with different companies. I don’t know, I’m so happy with this project cause I understand that it’s not easy to organise many different students in different companies and find the best ones. Thanks for everything and for all this programme, it was nice when we speak about the city, people, company.. Thou it was not easy to wake up at 6am but I did it cause I have aim, i have project in my head and that’s why I did it… / En primer lugar, gracias por todo a Mundus, que nos permitió que tengamos esta experiencia con diferentes empresas. No sé, estoy tan feliz con este proyecto, entiendo que no es fácil organizar a muchos estudiantes diferentes en diferentes empresas y encontrar las mejores. Gracias por todo y por todo este programa, fue agradable cuando hablamos de la ciudad, la gente, la empresa ... No fue fácil despertarse a las 6 A.M. pero lo hice porque tengo un objetivo, tengo un proyecto en mi cabeza y es por eso que lo hice ...

Vianney: Despite the language barrier I realized that I managed to exchange ideas with the professionals, and in spite of the linguistic difficulty I was able to learn from them. I am also happy because I managed to overcome my fear towards “unknown”, which has been my first time that I have lived an experience like that. / A pesar de la barrera de la lengua me di cuenta de que conseguí intercambiar cosas con los profesionales, osea,  a pesar de la dificultad lingüística pude aprender de ellos. También estoy contento porque conseguí superar mi miedo hacia lo desconocido, que ha sido mi primera vez que he vivido una experiencia así.

Do you think that more young people should participate in projects like yours? Why? / ¿Lo recomendarías a otros jóvenes? ¿Por qué? 

Meron: When we speak about the Europe, what is Europe? I don’t know exact number of the countries inside but what is aim of doing this internship? When I did internship in this country, and later there will be other students doing internship in some other countries, I think the first think is to learn new language, and when you speak 3-4 languages you are not one person, you are 3-4 persons cause you can understand you with different people. And other thing for example, If I stayed in France it would be different, now I can always come back to Zaragoza cause I know some people here, boss Alberto, my coworkers, they could help me to find a work, even if not in that company they can propose another one.. Same, if I did this experience in another country it would be the same cause I would knew some people, I would have relationship with them and if I need help they can help me in the future. / Cuando hablamos de Europa, ¿qué es Europa? No sé el número exacto de países dentro pero, ¿cuál es el objetivo de hacer estas prácticas?  Hice unas prácticas en este país, y habrá otros estudiantes realizando las suhyas en otros países, y creo que lo primero es aprender un nuevo idioma, y cuando hablas de 3 a 4 idiomas no eres una persona, eres 3 -4 personas porque te puedes entender con diferentes personas. Y otra cosa por ejemplo, si me hubiese quedado en Francia sería diferente, ahora siempre puedo volver a Zaragoza porque conozco a algunas personas aquí, el jefe Alberto, mis compañeros de trabajo, ellos podrían ayudarme a encontrar un trabajo, incluso si no es en esta compañía pueden proponer otra. Igual, si hiciera esta experiencia en otro país sería lo mismo porque habría conocido a otras personas, tendría una relación con ellos y si necesito ayuda pueden ayudarme en el futuro.

Vianney: Apart from the professional benefit, what I learned, is an opportunity to get to know not only other people but also to know yourself because you are in a situation that you have never lived before and that is why you also discover yourself. It is an experience that you have to live! / A parte del beneficio profesional, de lo que pude aprender, es una oportunidad de conocer no solo a otras personas sino también de conocerse a sí mismo porque estás en una situación que no has vivido nunca antes y por eso también te descubrirse a ti mismo. ¡Es una experiencia que hay que vivir!
