Hey, somos los voluntarios, otra vez. Estaremos por aquí hasta agosto, entonces tendréis que acostumbraros a oír de nosotros. Estamos por todos los lados, en cuatro centros juveniles en Santa Coloma y en uno en Barcelona; estamos invadiendo tu Instagram y Facebook (@evs_santacoloma) con artículos y fotos. Llegaremos a estar tanto en tu vida que nos amarás, sí o sí. Este mes no hemos estado por una semana; seguro que sentiste nuestra ausencia en las calles ventosas de Santa Cold (como llamamos a Santa Coloma).

La primera gran novedad es que Sa’ri, la voluntaria de Hungría, ha vuelto de India donde fue a una boda a lo Bollywood. Trabaja en el Centre Obert Moises con niños y jóvenes y tiene una gran pasión por la fotografía analógica y el yoga. Mantente sintonizad@ porque parece que tenga mucho en mente. Está ya organizando un taller en el que los niños crearán y se convertirán en su propio superhéroe, eligiendo sus superpoderes y su traje.

Nico se fue de excursión con los jóvenes de Centre Obert Rialles y tiene obras de pintura en mente. La fachada del centro pronto se volverá de colores, así como las manos y las caras de los niños implicados en el proyecto.

Guillaume también está empezando nuevas actividades y talleres en Mans a les Mans. Unas amantes de Ed Sheeran están aprendiendo a tocar la guitarra y él involucrará a todos en la creación de la canción del centro. A los participantes les encantan sus propuestas, pero no están demasiado contentos cuando llega el  momento de los deberes. Dolores de cabeza surgen de la nada y cualquier broma se vuelve en la excusa perfecta para eludir el trabajo. Durante una de estas sesiones no tan divertidas, Guillaume se ha convertido en "Guión". Está marcado.

Selin todavía tiene algunos problemas para comunicarse, que está genial. No podríamos reírnos tanto si no fuera así. Su última historia: estaba pintando con una niña pero parece que no escogió los colores como ella quería. La chica puso una cara de súper enfadada y le dio una "pequeña paliza". Una niña de siete años haciendo bullying a Selin es algo que todos queríamos ver.

Yo (Rebecca), bueno, tengo el privilegio de escribir este reportaje sobre nosotros y ofreceros un par de ojos a través de los cuales poder echar un vistazo a la vida de cinco voluntarios europeos.

No hemos estado durante una semana, como mencioné antes. Estábamos en Comarruga, una ciudad de playa en el sur de Cataluña, participando en la formación a la llegada. Básicamente se trata de una semana de actividades para hacerte entender qué significa exactamente ser un Voluntario Europeo. 25 personas de más o menos 10 países diferentes que hablan 12 diferentes idiomas hablando de su experiencia y debatiendo sobre los derechos humanos, la crisis en Europa y la situación política de varios países. El ambiente que creamos fue sin duda muy estimulante. Nos enseñaron cómo podemos tener un rol activo en nuestro proyecto y las cosas empezaron a tomar sentido. Puedes ir al supermercado para ver qué hay y salir con una bolsa de patatas fritas porque pasabas por allí  o puedes decidir hacer una tarta y buscar los ingredientes. Puedes traer las tartas a tus amigos o comértela sol@ y ponerte gord@. Estamos todavía preparando la masa de nuestra tarta, nuestro proyecto. A veces sientes que todo se va a desmoronar y quieres abortar la misión, pero de repente llega algo que te hace cambiar de perspectiva. Es verdad, a veces todo lo que necesitas es un poco de motivación. Yo haré helado. ¿Te unes?

Hey it’s us volunteers again. We will be around until August so you will have to get used to hear from us. We are everywhere, in four centers in Santa Coloma and in one in Barcelona; we are invading your Instagram and Facebook feed (@evs_santacoloma) with articles and pictures. We will be so much in your life that you will fall in love with us, yes or yes. This month we were not here for a week though; you surely felt the lack of our presence in the windy streets of Santa Cold (how we call Santa Coloma).

The first great news is that Sa’ri, the volunteer from Hungary, is back from India where she attended a Bollywood dream-like marriage. She works in Centre Obert Moises with children and youngsters and has a great passion for film photography and yoga. Stay tuned because it seems like she has quite a lot in mind. She is already organizing a workshop in which children will create and maybe become their own superhero, choosing its superpower and costume.

Nico went on an excursion with the youngsters of Centre Obert Rialles and has some painting in mind. The facade of the center will soon take a colorful turn, along with the hands of the children involved in the project.

Guillaume is also starting new activities and workshops in Mans a les Mans. Ed Sheeran lovers are learning how to play guitar and he will involve everyone in the creation of the song of the center. Kids are really enjoying his proposals, but they are not too happy when it is time to do homework. Headaches appear out of nowhere and any joke becomes the perfect excuse to avoid the work. During one of these not-so-fun sessions his name turned into “guión”, which in Spanish means script. He is marked.

Selin is still having some communication issues, which is great because otherwise we couldn’t laugh at her stories. Last one: she was painting with a girl but apparently she did not choose the right colours. The kid got really angry and made a Chinese face and decided to gently hit her. Selin bullied by a seven year old is something we all would like to see.

Me, well, I have the privilege to write this report and offer you a pair of eyes to have a glimpse at the life of five European Volunteers.

We were all gone for a week, as I mentioned before. We were in Comarruga, a beach town in the South of Cataluña, participating in the on arrival training. Basically, a week of activities to make you understand what exactly means to be a European Volunteer. 25 people from about 10 different countries speaking 12 languages talking about their experiences and discussing about human rights and the European crisis along with the political situation of different countries. The environment we created was, needless to say, extremely stimulating. They showed us how we can have an active role in our project and things started to make sense. You can go to the supermarket to look what’s there and buy chips while you pass by or you can choose to make a cake and look for the ingredients. You can take the cake to your friends or eat it all by yourself and get fat. We are still mixing the ingredients in our cake, our project. At times it feels like it is going to fall apart and you want to abort the mission, but then something comes in and helps you change perspective. It is true, sometimes all you need is a little motivation. I will make ice-cream. Want to join?
