Costel Dobrescu, EVS with Mundus in Barcelona: "It was the best decision I could have made"
Interview with Costel. Just before leaving, our EVS volunteer, Costel Dobrescu, from Romania, gives us an interview. He arrived in Santa Coloma de Gramenet 6 months ago and leaves with a bag of experiences. We know we will meet again along the way. Do not miss his interview!
Why did you decide to join the European Volunteer Service?
When I reached a certain level in my professional life, I felt it was time for a change. I had already had several experiences with Erasmus + participating in courses in Europe. I knew that EVS was the best option. So, having an idea about what I wanted to do, I felt the need to take it to the next level and share what I had learned in those courses with other people.
What do you like most about living here?
What I liked most about living here is that, although the cultural differences are very large, there is always a need for diversity among people. I felt that they had the need to learn and teach me, on a human level, that differences must be accepted. On a professional level, I can only say how much I appreciate everything I learned from working with children and how much I have evolved as an actor.
Why would you recommend people to participate in a European Voluntary Service?
I think it is not necessary to recommend it. Sharing my experience will leave the rest to decide if it is something they should do or not. All I have to say now, in the end, is that it was the best decision I could have made. Thanks Erasmus +.
I guess you have met people from many different places ... Have you traveled anywhere in Spain?
During EVS, thanks to the training on arrival and halfway through the project where I have met many volunteers in Spain. I took the opportunity to travel. I have visited many cities and I have had incredible experiences thanks to the fact that I was able to visit many people.
