VET STUDIES. From 15th to 18th October we were in Helsinki for the European Vocational Skills Week. This is an annual event promoted by the European Commission to foster and recognize high quality standards at the level of Vocational Education and Training.
This event was very important for Asociación Mundus. We got the invitation to the EVSW after being recognized as one of the best events promoting VET studies around Europe. The European Commission had selected our Can Europa as the second best event in VET promoting Vocational Education and Training, among more than 430 registered events. We received a special mention during the last day of the event.
The European Vocational Skills is for us an excellent opportunity to get know many VET providers around Europe, as well as our colleagues of the EfVET network. This fact is potentially bringing new ideas and future European mobility projects. Through this week, we had the opportunity to talk and learn a lot about the different challenges of our society, and how VET programs could prepare the youngsters we work with for the future.
We debated about the skills for future work: the technology could help the progress, but our activities in VET have the responsibility to take care of one of the most important problem of our society: climate exchange. Despite the hugeness of this challenge, certainly all the actors of the society is committed to achieving it more than ever: schools, institutions, associations, companies, etc.
