"Youth Front", youth exchange in Italy

Erasmus + project in Italy. Between September 24 and October 2, 2018, the Youth Front youth exchange took place, in which a group of young people enjoyed an experience of international mobility within the Erasmus + program, funded by the European Union. The project aimed to "transform borders into opportunities to get closer to what differentiates us". On the way back, the participants have told us firsthand their experience.

Before starting the experience I was afraid to face all those things that meant a change in my life, meet new people, use different languages, have new challenges ... I thought I would not have been able to face all the challenges that came towards me and I even thought about abandoning. Once at the airport, fear increased: I was going to meet one of my classmates for a week and I didn't know what impression I was going to make. The truth is that knowing that fear went away. It was my first experience and I didn't know very well what I should do, and he just reassured me.

Upon arriving at the place I saw that everything that was going to start from that moment was going to be magical. I met all my classmates and we were all different, we came from different places and we knew different things. But we had one thing in common: we all came to form a great team, which over the days would become a big family.

I can never regret this great experience that I have lived, I would repeat it once and a thousand times. Right now I think that this experience that I have lived is a great learning in my life; I think it has made me grow as a person and especially as a partner. It has made me learn that the world is so big and we are so small that we really mean nothing alone. But if I am sure of something, it is that with this great family that took me from Bologna, I am much bigger than I was before.

To all of you who have in mind to do some of this I say that being afraid is the most normal, and you will pass it whenever it is your first experience. But fear does not make you abandon because, when you return, you will do it with more courage than ever.
