Lesé Asociación Animalista

Tenemos dos plazas de Voluntariado Europeo de 12 meses para ayudar en una asociación animalista de la capital de Lituania, Vilna. ¿Te suena bien? Pues sigue leyendo para saber cómo convertirte en nuestro próximo SVE.

Como siempre, alojamiento, transporte, alimentación, seguro, curso de idiomas y pocket money están cubiertos por los fondos Erasmus+.

¿A qué se dedica la asociación de acogida?

La organización fue fundada en 2007 por voluntarios amantes de los animales, quienes empezaron a acoger animales sin hogar en sus casas y a buscarles una familia adoptiva. En 2008, “Lesé” abrió su propio refugio de animales y desde entonces ha adoptado más de 4.500 animales.

Los objetivos de la organización son:

-Reducir el número de abandonos de mascotas.

-Encontrar nuevos hogares para animales.

-Promover la conciencia ciudadana para detener la crueldad contra los animales.

¿Qué harás tú?

Las actividades que desarrollarán los voluntarios están enfocadas en el aprendizaje no-formal, la educación intercultural y el desarrollo personal y profesional. La filosofía de nuestra organización es que sean los voluntarios los que contribuyan con sus ideas, esfuerzos y recursos a Lesé.

Actividades del voluntariado:

1. Recoger y transportar gatos callejeros para el programa Trap-Neuter Release.
2. Diversas tareas en el refugio: alimentación, limpieza, tratamiento, paseo, cuidados de higiene, dogs shows, visitas a los equipos de otras ciudades: Kaunas, Jonava.
3.  No todo es “salvar a los animales”. También se realiza trabajo administrativo: pósters, diseño de panfletos, fotografías, difusión de anuncios de animales perdidos, comunicación con el extranjero, escritura de artículos para comunidades de extranjeros en Lituania, campañas de difusión y conciención social, etc.

¿A quién buscan?

Requisitos básicos: alta motivación; interés en el rescate y acogida de animales; respeto por las personas y los animales; paciencia; iniciativa (fuerza de voluntad para desarrollar nuevas ideas); actitud positiva hacia el trabajo; motivación hacia las actividades que desarrollamos, preferiblemente, teniendo experiencia previa e interés en nuestro campo de acción.

My project started on September. I needed to get used to the new country, new language, new people, new style of life, etc. The first day in the shelter was only to learn our daily tasks. We went with our mentor. She explained us everything very properly and clear. The day after we started to do everything alone, obviously with the support of the rest of the volunteers and mostly Rasa and the Director Vesta. They are very nice people although the language sometime is a barrier, but anyways we are a team and we know how to communicate to each other.

After some days we knew already how to do everything. I chose to work with the dogs and my colleague with the cats, so now I ́m kind of responsible of the dogs, I say “responsible” cause I feel like this, in the good way. Rasa, the real responsible of the dogs trusts a lot in me to take care of them and to show the shelter to the people who are visiting us.

In our shelter they have a lot of information about the rules, the portions of the food that the animals eat, the procedures, new rules, cautions,… and they also have groups on Gmail or whatsapp to communicate everything, but the problem is that everything is in Lithuanian.

The thing I miss the most in my work is to know everything about my doggies, their stories and this stuff… the new things that it happens everyday… I want to know everything but sometimes it is hard to them to explain us. Now is my sixth month in Lithuania and I ́m an expert in the shelter, I know perfectly my daily tasks.

The new volunteers should know that is really hard work and routine (the same tasks everyday), and is very important that they love animals. From my opinion and experience this is the best project that I could choose. It ́s amazing!! I have the best animals ever, they are awesome and the people around us the same.
