Volunteering in France. From Mundus we are looking for a volunteer to perform a French Civil Service in the city of Pau, France, from September 2018 to February 2019. Any young person between 18 and 25 years old with residence in Spain can participate in this volunteer, which is compatible with having performed a European Voluntary Service.

The French Civil Service (Service Civique) is a volunteer program funded by the French state, similar to the European Voluntary Service (EVS). For this vacancy, we are looking for a volunteer between 18 and 25 years old who wants to join Pistes Solidaires, an organization based in Pau, and that operates in the southwest of France offering learning opportunities through mobility and generating a Europe link and the local population.

What is volunteering about?

Volunteer activities will aim to support mobility projects and promote interculturality at the local level. More concretely:

- Preparation and support of people who will carry out mobility to Europe (administrative support, help in the selection, preparation of volunteers and evaluation of projects)

- Help in cross-border projects between France and Spain (search for temporary jobs in Spain, internships, volunteering ...)

- Communication and dissemination of mobility projects

- Development of new partnerships

- Organization of language workshops with local and international volunteers, as well as students

- Active participation in activities and projects that promote European mobility at the level of schools, local events, etc.

Requirements and financing

We are looking for a person motivated by the theme of volunteering, for knowing French culture and working in a multicultural environment. The selected person must have a good level of English (comprehension and writing).

The volunteer will receive € 580.55 as a monthly scholarship to cover all the costs of the stay, with the possibility of renting a room in an apartment of Pistes Solidaires in Pau for € 280.

Travel costs are not covered by the program.
