Within the framework of the activities planned within the Erasmus + program, co-financed by the Directorate General for Education and Culture of the European Union, the Spanish National Agency has organized a training course on arrival for the participants of the European Voluntary Service, who have recently joined Catalan organizations to carry out their volunteer projects.

The course was held between November 26 and December 1 at the youth hostel Cerverí de Girona, in this Catalan town. The Mundus Association has sent seven of the 25 participants called. These people participate in Mundus's own project managed by their European Voluntary Service. and locates them in different social centers of the province of Barcelona. This action is possible thanks to the Erasmus + funds that finance youth mobility in Europe through the EVS program.

In the training course, the attendees have had the opportunity to coincide with other young people who have also come to our country to volunteer, in a unique environment such as the city of Girona. For a week, they have carried out different activities. First, to get to know each other and establish links to generate a team consciousness. Second, to learn more about the program in which they participate (EVS) and the Erasmus + program in general. In addition, they have been able to learn more about the language, history and culture of Catalonia and Spain, as well as work in interculturality. Finally, they have had time to explain the projects in which they are participating, their expectations regarding it and the objectives of their learning.

On the other hand, these projects will be some of the last ones carried out under the European Voluntary Service program, because this has evolved to the so-called Cuerpo Europeo de Solidaridad (European Solidarity Corps),
which includes, in addition to volunteer experiences, professional practices and jobs in the country of origin and in other European countries.
