The last training course of Edu-Action 2.0 in Palermo

Strategic projects. Edu-Action 2.0 is finishing and during this week we had the last meeting in Palermo, after two months of job shadowing. Edu-Action 2.0 is an initiative funded by Erasmus+ that aims at finding joint solutions to reduce early school leaving through non-formal education.

The job shadowing activity within Edu-Action 2.0 has involved 11 young professional workers and they have travelled to Italy, Estonia, Spain, Kenya, Uruguay and Nepal. All participants have met back in Sicily with the purpose to share what they have learnt and to reflect about the mobility experience of the last 8 weeks.

The training in Palermo started on 8th December, with the arrival of the youth workers from Kenya, Nepal and Uruguay, the countries in which the second part of the job shadowing was held.

For one week (until 14th December), the coordinating organization of Edu-Action 2.0, Per Esempio Onlus (Palermo), carried out a training course to evaluate the mobilities, to assess the lessons learned during the job shadowing and to share the good practices observed in those six countries.

It was a week full of emotions and an intense experience for the youth workers participating in the project. Although they had a very intense professional experience, the personal learning has had as well a important role in the reflection activities.

Each participant explained the situation of school drop-outs in the host country and shared which methods and activities they had been able to witness during the month of mobility. In addition, experts from the University of Palermo shared the study carried out to investigate in each of the participating countries the perception of non-formal education as a tool for preventing early school leaving.
