EVS Volunteers - YOUNIC (India, Mexico and Colombia)
Through the Erasmus + Capacity Building YOUNIC project, of which we are coordinators, we will send three volunteers from Spain to organizations in India, Mexico and Colombia for 6 months (from June 1 to November 28).
As in any other EVS project, those selected will have financed travel, accommodation, meals and pocket money.
1. EVS in COLOMBIA
Host Entity: GAL (Grupo de Acción Local) Valletenzano and University of Bogotá
Place: Guayatá, Boyacá
Target group: preteens who are in the last years of compulsory secondary education and unemployed youth, without activity or prospects in having it in the short term.
Description of the local project:
Two lines of work:
- The first, one in educational intervention about preteens in school, and with long-term objectives. The purpose of this first line is the consolidation in the target group, of the feeling of belonging to the territory. The focus of this action is that mere training in leadership or entrepreneurship skills on a young sector that is not interested in reversing that training in the territory or whose greatest ambition in the short term is to migrate to Bogotá is not enough.
-The second line has as its target group young people who have finished school, inhabitants of the territory in small towns with concerns and willingness to develop projects at the local level. This second line would also have intersection points in the first. After some time working with this group of young people, some of them would participate in the pre-adolescent school sensitization project from their experience in YOUNIC, sharing the work and concerns that are being developed.
